Hi everyone! Or should I say konnichiwa? Sorry, I'm not so sure with my Japanese.
I'm part of the writing team here at otakudotph, and I'm here to write about cars. Not just Japanese cars but cars in general, but there will surely be an effort to highlight more of the Japanese side of things both locally (Philippines) and internationally.
I love cars -- from bone stock classics, to tricked out tuners, I just find them fascinating and interesting. I think the automobile should be the considered as the best invention.. well, ever. Our daily lives wouldn't be complete without them.
The Japanese have some of the greatest automakers in the world, pushing technology and performance to new heights all while being relatively cheaper to their European and American counterparts. And I don't know if it's just me, I find a story or feature about Japanese cars more gripping. And I will try to deliver features that hopefully everyone will like, gearhead or not.
I admit I'm no walking encyclopedia when it comes to cars, but I've owned quite a few cars despite my age, so I can say I've been around cars long enough to know something. I have two cars at the moment: a European inspired Korean econo- machine (sounds weird, eh?), my 2005 Hyundai Getz and a Japanese classic, a 1982 Toyota Corona RT130 wagon. Both my rides are still works in progress, as I view modifying cars a perpetual and neverending process. I'm crossing my fingers that hopefully another Japanese creation would be added to my stable of rides by early next year.
Looking forward to writing for you again! Let me share some recent pictures of both my rides.
'til my next post!
